o       Bringing your own food is recommended because it will be a comfort for your pet by having something familiar, and this will also help decrease tummy upset due to sudden diet change.   Food needs to be in a sealed container with a tightly fitting lid, such as Tupperware or a popcorn tin (no baggies), this will help with any possible pest and varmint problems; this is also a State of Missouri regulation.  Do not bring the original bag.  Bring only the appropriate amount of food for the amount of time that your pet is staying.

ü      Long-term discount is 10% off after a 14-night stay, and 15% off after a 30-night stay.

ü    There is a free bath offer with any 10-night stay, and appropriate notification of when the pet may be picked up.  The bath must be requested at the time of dropping off the animal.  Ask us about our bath and nail trimming prices.   Crossroads Kennels does not provide grooming services except for those who stay at the facility.

ü      No more than 2 dogs together in an enclosure.  Dogs larger than 75 lbs. are recommended to have their own space.

ü      There is no extra charge to administer any medications.  Please provide detailed instructions with the medication.

ü      Veterinary approved flea and tick treatment is required.  If fleas are discovered on your pet an appropriate treatment (Frontline Plus) will be applied at the owner’s expense.  An attempt to reach the owner will be made prior to the treatment for notification.

ü      Pet cots and mutt mats are provided for bedding.  However, it is acceptable to bring your own bedding.  Please limit personal items brought to 2-3 articles and have them labeled with your name.  Be aware that it may be possible items can become misplaced or destroyed (i.e. chewed to shreds).  Bedding is washed regularly and personal bedding that is brought in will be washed prior to pick up with appropriate notification of pick up time.

ü      Complimentary treats and toys are provided.  Toys include kongs stuffed full of yummies and for the yard there is a wide variety of balls, frisbees and tug toys.

ü       There is a zero tolerance policy against aggression.  This applies to all breeds.  However, we generally do not accept Pit Bulls or Rottweilers there is a chance that we may make an exception to this rule for those who may believe that their dog is a good dog.  For this exception there will involve a history check on the animal with several references that must be provided (including a veterinarian and any prior boarding facility), emergency contacts (in case a situation may occur to where an animal must be picked up immediately), and a 5 day notice prior to their stay at this facility with a short visit to the facility for evaluation.   If your pet has previously been aggressive or if you are concerned that your pet may show any signs of aggression (such as growling, bearing teeth or nipping/biting) we ask that you find someone else that they are familiar with (i.e. a family member or friend/neighbor) to care for them.  If there are signs of aggression we will ask for you to have them picked up as soon as possible.  This is for the safety of the people caring for the animals and for the safety of the other animals around them.

ü      Although we can be available at all times to accept dogs we ask for your consideration of our time to try to schedule delivery and pick-up of dogs to be during our preferred hours of 7:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. or by appointment.  If you expect that you may be late picking up your animal please call and plan on picking them up the following day.  Pick-ups after 6 p.m. will be charged $5 for late pick-up.  However, we will accommodate your schedule as we know that emergencies can come up.  (No drop-offs or pick-ups between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., except for emergencies.)  Using the preferred hours helps decrease stress to the animals by minimizing disturbances.

ü     There is some paperwork involved at the time of check in for the first visit.  Please help expedite this process by printing off the form at home and filling it out prior to your arrival.  (PET CARE AGREEMENT FORM-Word document)
